Our Projects

Our History

1947

Eric Charlesworth Ltd was established in 1947 by Herbert Eric Charlesworth. His aim was to provide the local area of Congleton with a high quality electrical service.

1950

Demand for our services came from domestic installations in the post-war council house building boom and the electrification of rural areas.

1955

Our company offices were built in Buglawton, and while extended over the years they remain our base today.

1957

We became Members of the NICEIC – just the 78th company to do so.

1960s

The New Schools Build program provides the business with plenty of commercial installations.

1977

The business is incorporated as a limited company.

1980s

We begin our contract with the Department of Work & Pensions, which continued for 22 years.

1990

We were awarded the Cheshire County All Schools & Corporate Buildings Emergency Lighting & Fire Alarm Maintenance Contract.

1993

Business turnover breaks £1m for the first time.

2009

Eric Charlesworth Limited gains BAFE SP 203 Accreditation.

2017

Dan Swindells, our 120th apprentice, starts his training

2022

We celebrated our 75th year of business
